Night visitors

Siamese Sidney dropped in the other night around midnight, and all my cats went into panic mode. I called his dad who promptly came over to retrieve big Sid. I'm keeping his phone number on speed dial!Darling but feral Gus, above, has finally started sleeping in a kitty bed. He's getting older (age 6) and spending more nights in the house this winter. I long to run my fingers through his rich fur, but Gus won't let me get within arm's reach. This is one of the possums who eat cat food and hang out in our house at night. In Texas possums seem to be everywhere. I ought to trap/neuter them. They get along fine with cats. But their noisy nocturnal noshing wakes me up.

Exit Sidney

I found Sidney's owner through craigslist. He's a new neighbor, a nice older guy across the street. I was very cautious before returning Sidney, making sure this guy was the real owner and a responsible one. Sidney (his real name is Smokey) is such a healthy cat, both emotionally and physically, that it's clear he's been well cared for.My other cats are ecstatic that Sidney is gone. But I won't be surprised if he breaks loose again from his inside-cat status and returns to visit us. He had a great time over here.

Enter Sidney

This purebred Siamese neutered male woke me up at 5 a.m., cat-fighting in my house. I'm searching for his owner, but probably he was abandoned (no collar) and managed to find my backyard kitty door. He is friendly, huge and healthy, and I'm calling him Sidney. Is there a connection between his appearance and Pierre's death? Did someone know I just lost a Siamese cat?My other cats are freaked out by this giant 14-pound kitty. Sidney's addition to our household is stressful for all of us, but he's an extraordinarily charismatic and delightful cat. In this photo my neighbor Hope is petting Sid.
